Salary Controversy Continues In Blackman Township

Posted: Updated:

BLACKMAN TWP, MI (WLNS) - Another board meeting took place in Blackman Twp. Monday to discuss salaries.

The township is in turmoil after the board there voted to double and quadruple the salaries of some of its elected officials.

The former treasurer who voted for her own increase later tried to resign. The board rejected her resignation and she announced plans to move out of the township.

Some of the raises have at least temporarily been put on hold. The public launched a petition drive to rescind the raises permanently.
