PLAINWELL, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say two people are dead following a crash involving a wrong-way driver on an Allegan County roadway after Michigan State Police troopers tried to stop the motorist.

According to our media partner MLive the crash happened around midnight Tuesday on U.S. 131 near Plainwell, about 35 miles south of Grand Rapids. Authorities say a 29-year-old man was driving a pickup truck the wrong way and collided head-on with a Mustang. Both vehicles caught fire and flames were extinguished by the troopers.

Both drivers died. Another injured person in the car was taken to a hospital with what were described as injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
