Broad Art Museum Gets $5 Million Gift

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) - The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum has received a gift that will help fund exhibitions for the next five years.

The $5 million gift was given by MSU alumnus Eli Broad and his wife, Edythe, in honor of the museum's founding director, Michael Rush.

This most recent donation from the Broads brings their total investment in the museum to $33 million, in addition to significant works of art from their private collection.

Since the museum opened in November 2012 more than 125,000 people have visited the exhibitions. The collection includes 7,500 objects ranging from Greek and Roman periods to modern art.
