Students March Across Michigan To Protest School Punishments

DETROIT, MI (WLNS) - Teenagers from are literally "pounding the pavement" because they want to stay in school.

They're walking from Detroit to Lansing to protest rules, they say lead to kids being suspended or expelled for minor offenses.

The group plans to walk the 85 miles in stages, ending-up at the Capitol on Wednesday.

They want to raise awareness about the issue and the Michigan Board of Education is expected to address it at a meeting next month.
