State Dems Take Step To Help Schools Improve Test Scores

Posted: Updated:
(WLNS) - State democrats are hosting a special hearing this morning on education legislation.

The "Education Achievement Authority", or EAA, wants to help failing schools improve students test scores.

Currently the EAA is helping the lowest 5 percent of schools in the Detroit area but legislation in the state Senate wants to expand the program state-wide.

Democrats say the hearing will include teachers, parents, as well as education experts, discussing possible issues of expanding.

The bill passed the House in March.
