Connected Cars Traveling Ann Arbor Roads

Posted: Updated:
(WLNS) - A few years ago the idea of vehicles talking to each other would have sounded like science fiction.

But science fiction is science fact today in Ann Arbor.

It's day 2 of a global symposium on connected vehicles at the University of Michigan.

The university is testing a program featuring vehicles with the ability to "talk" to each other.

All kinds of vehicles including buses, motorcycles, cars and trucks are moving through the city and are wirelessly connected.

Government officials hope the program eventually leads to safer roads.
