Senator Rick Jones Seeking Re-Election

LANSING, MI (WLNS) - Senator Rick Jones has announced he will be filing for re-election.

State Senator Rick Jones was elected to the Michigan Senate in November 2010 to represent the residents of the 24th District.

He has been a resident of the senate district for 40 years and previously worked at the Eaton County Sheriff Department for more than 30 years. Senator Jones also served three terms at the State Representative for the 71st district before he was elected into the State Senate.

He recently introduced a bill to remove the "R" word from Michigan law and was successful.

Jones has a Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and was the only legislator on the original committee to bring the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams to MSU.
