Taking A Stand For Safe Jobs

Posted: Updated:
(WLNS) - Mid-Michigan community members are taking a stand and calling for "good and safe" jobs for all working people.

Dozens are expected to gather in Lansing today to honor those who've died, or been hurt, while working.

Every day many of us wake up and may go to a workplace that doesn't directly put our lives at risk.

But there are still many workers who continue to work in conditions that expose them to toxic chemicals and serious safety hazards.

Today the community is coming together to call on congress to create safer jobs for all working people.

If you too want to show your support for any family or friends having to deal with workplace violence, or other serious safety conditions the "'Workers Memorial Day Observance" will be held at Wentworth Park today at noon.

Michigan AFL-CIO will head the event.
