(WLNS) - Lansing firefighters were called out to a 2-story housefire on the 1600 block of Donora Street this morning.
Crews were called to the scene just before 5:00 a.m.
When they arrived flames were showing on the ground floor. There was reportedly no one inside the house and there are no reports of injuries.
Fire burned through the first floor ceiling into the second floor but did not reach the roof. Firefighters had to yell warnings to each other because the floor inside the house had collapsed.
Consumers Energy workers were called in to turn off gas supply to the house.  That gas had been feeding the fire on the exterior of the house.
It appears a neighboring house was damaged by the heat and flames.
No cause has yet been determined.  The wind and rain does not appear to be a factor in controlling the fire.
The house was a total loss.  One adult male lived and owned the house.  The Red Cross has provided clothes, food and lodging for the homeowner.
