MSU Graduates Look To The Future

(WLNS) - Today marks the first day of their adult lives for MSU's graduating class.

The seniors will be setting foot in different areas of work not limited to...

Student: "Education is one of those...packaging, supply chains... I hate to start listing them because there are so many. Construction management, those are just a few. Hospitality management is another. "

An approximate survey for the class of 2013 shows that 61% of the class of 2013 is in the work force...4% higher than the class of 2012.

Although this year's statistics are not available yet...MSU's career services representative Eric Doerr says employment outlook is strong.

Doerr: "The baby boomer generation is moving into retirement, and that's a large population in the workforce. And as they begin to retire, we know that's gonna open up opportunities."

Reporter: We're here at the Sparty statue on campus and we had a chance to talk to graduating seniors about where they are headed after graduation

Student: "I'm heading to chicago."

Student: "I'm going to Duke University."

Student: "I'm doing the Disney college program down at Disney World."

Student: "I'm going to McLaren Greater Lansing, for residency in family medicine."

Student: "I'm heading to Grand Rapids for an internship in elementary education."

i'm working at a hospital now, i'm planning on becoming a registered nurse after i pass the nclex

The job market is waiting for the class of 2014 with open arms and the seniors will walk right into it starting today.
