St. Vincent Catholic Charities Promotes Teen Adoption

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- A special event Sunday aimed to promote teen adoption in a creative way.

Sunday afternoon St. Vincent Catholic Charities put on art exhibit titled "In Our Voices." The unique event gives foster kids the chance to show who they are and to describe the families they wish to join.

The event was held at Old Town's Absolute Gallery and displayed the artwork created by 11 different foster kids between the ages of 13 and 17.

"Teenagers are still kids, you know, a lot of people, they want to have youth in their home, but these teenagers, they need to have somebody, they need to have someone that's going to guide them and show them how to be successful in society," said Whitney Banks, the adoption recruiter at St.Vincent Catholic Charities.
