Elections Today In Mid-Michigan

(WLNS) - It's election day and it's an opportunity for you to have a direct impact on your community.

Many issues up for vote, deal with local schools.

Today's special elections could soon pose a great impact on where funds are distributed over the next 10 to 20 years.

Many local schools will vote on millages today one being Williamston Community Schools where they're hoping to levy 75 cent mills on taxable property.

If the vote passes nearly $300,000 could be raised to fund public recreation and playgrounds.

And the votes don't stop there.

Voters who reside in the Lansing School District area will have the opportunity to vote on a renewal of a non-homestead millage for the next 20 years.

Leslie public schools is proposing a 95 cent mill to create a sinking fund to purchase real estate, add construction and repair of school buildings.

Now these are just a few of the many areas holding elections today.
