Rescued Dog Now Healthy And Ready To Be Adopted

Posted: Updated:
LANSING, MI (WLNS) - After almost two and a half years, the pit bull-terrier mix known as Tatiana is ready to find her forever home.

Tatiana was found beaten, hog-tied and near-death back in 2011. Ernie Moss was walking his dogs when the two drug him down into the ditch Tatiana was stuck in.
Moss and volunteers didn't know if she was going to survive. The Capital Area Humane Society took her in for 18 months and helped her recover. Eventually she was sent to Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary for further rehabilitation and now she is healthy and stable enough to be adopted into a home.

Julia Palmer, the president of the Humane Society says she is surprised because animals abused to this degree usually have a difficult time recovering.
“An animal who endures this type of abuse often times can't fully recover and we'll see behavior issues that are a result of that abuse. You never really know if the animals gonna be able to fully recover to a point where they can go into a traditional home,” said Palmer.

Luckily Tatiana was able to come back strong and is now healthy and trusting enough to be adopted into a home, preferably with experienced owners who are able to understand her background.

If you're interested in adopting Tatiana, she's currently at
Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary.
