EAST LANSING, MI (WLNS) - The shooting along Coolidge Rd. in East Lansing has the street blocked off for hours Monday. The block created concerns for those who live nearby, including local schools who were on lockdown.

Well as you can imagine the people there were shaken up and in disbelief, wondering how this could happen along their street.

Neighbors 6 News Nick Perreault spoke with say they had little contact with the suspect. They usually kept to themselves, other than normal small talk passing in the driveway.

Neighbors say they do recall frequent loud music coming from the home and an argument the night before, around 9 p.m. Sunday.

"I was standing outside last night and heard them screaming you want to die, “you want to know what getting shot feels like, is that what you want to do, do you want to get shot,” so I went back in my house,” said Nadine Cohen, neighbor.

"I feel like I should of called the cops last night, but I didn't because, it's not my business, why would I involve myself in it, this is what people need to realize, if you do have altercations that you do need to call the cops.”
