Two Arrested After Plier-wielding Thief Gets Pummeled By Store Clerk

Posted: Updated:
(WLNS) - Police in Ann Arbor have released video from a gas station where a 22-year old clerk knocked out a would-be robber earlier this month.
Police say 49-year old Frederick Coble and his girlfriend, 48-year old Christina Borcea are charged with armed robbery and are to be in court for a preliminary hearing today.
According to our media partners at MLive, the video shows the pair entering a Speedway gas station and plundering cigarettes from behind the counter.
When the clerk catches them they pretend like they're going to pay.
Then out come the pliers and out go the lights for the would-be robber.
Borcea is seen running from the scene.  The clerk runs for help.  Coble staggers to his feet only to be caught soon after by police riding a bicycle to Borcea's home.
