Summit Targets Reversal Of Michigan 'Brain Drain'

Posted: Updated:
LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Young professionals and college students are coming together to discuss ways to reverse Michigan's "brain drain" of young talent leaving the state.

The first Emerging Leaders Summit is scheduled for Friday in Lansing. Participants plan to talk about how Millenials can help the state both attract and keep talented people in Michigan.

Speakers include representatives from the Michigan Economic Development Corp., Michigan Municipal League, ArtPrize, and the think tank Michigan Future Inc.

The summit organizer's Eddie Lee says bringing together innovative young leaders from across the state will help bring fresh policy recommendations to the table. He wants to see more effective collaboration across job sectors and geographical regions.
