Dogs Strut Their Stuff To Help End Animal Cruelty

Posted: Updated:
INGHAM COUNTY, MI (WLNS) – On Saturday dozens of dogs will strut their stuff for a great cause. The Ingham County Animal Shelter is hosting the Woofer Walk, which will help raise funds for homeless and abused dogs in mid-Michigan.

6 News Reporter Francesca Amiker spent the morning at the Ingham County Animal Shelter in Mason getting acquainted with some of the young pups making a big difference (watch videos part one and two.)

The Woofer Walk fundraiser will be at Michigan State University on Saturday, May 17. Dogs and their owners will take part in a 2.5 mile walk to raise funds for the homeless animals at the Ingham County Animal Shelter.

There will also be a silent auction and a “Doggie Diva Contest.” If you’re one of those owners who loves to dress up your pets, now is the chance to really show off your personality and your pet’s. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded for the best dressed furry friend that can strut their stuff.

Registration for the Woofer Walk beings at 9 a.m. at Michigan State University and the walk starts at 10 a.m.
