Unemployment Insurance Customers To Get New Debit Cards

Posted: Updated:
(WLNS) - Michigan unemployment insurance customers who receive their benefits by Chase-issued debit cards will soon be seeing new debit cards.
Due to a new State of Michigan contract, Bank of America replaces Chase as the company issuing the debit cards.
The new cards are being mailed out now but no funds will be loaded onto the Bank of America cards until June 2nd.
UIA Director Sharon Moffett-Massey says that customers should use their current Chase debit cards until any balance is gone because funds cannot be transferred to the new cards.
Currently 35% of unemployment insurance claimants choose to receive their benefit payments on debit cards.
