High-Speed Chase Ends In Fiery Crash

(WLNS) - A man leads deputies on an early-morning chase that ends with him in handcuffs and his car on fire.

It started just before 6 a.m. in Holt at the intersection of Holt and Aurelius roads and ended at the corner of Victor by MLK.

Ingham County sheriff's deputies tell 6 News they spotted the man either passed out or sleeping behind the wheel.

When they approached he came to and took off.

One deputy hurt his hand when trying to enter the vehicle.

Ingham County then called in Lansing police to help out.

Officers finally used spiked stop sticks to blow out a tire.

The resulting heat caused the car to catch fire for a short time.

There were no other passengers in the vehicle.

The suspect is now in custody.
