LanSINGout Gay Men's Chorus Preview New Show

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) - You’ve heard the phrase ‘music makes the world go around’ and a Lansing choir has made it their mission to use their voices for not only singing but for change as well.

LanSINGout Gay Men's Chorus joined morning reporter Franceca Amiker to give a preview of their 25th Anniversary Concert, "A Silver Celebration".

The chorus first began in 1988 to not only portray a positive image of the gay community, but to also provide a safe place for gay men to socialize.

After more than 20 years, members of the chorus are thankful to say that much has changed in the Lansing community in regards to views towards gay men.

The song, ‘Unchained Melodies’ is just one of the many songs that the choir will sing. The concerts will be held Saturday, May 31st at 7:00 pm and Sunday, June 1st at 3:00 pm at Molly Grove Chapel at First Presbyterian Church located at 510 W. Ottawa St in downtown Lansing.

Ticket prices will be on a sliding scale of $20-$12 and can be purchased from chorus members or online.

There will be a silent auction both concert days and the performances will be ASL interpreted.
