GREENVILLE, N.C. - A dog in Greenville, North Carolina is hoping to enter the World’s Ugliest Dog contest in California.
Holly Chandler rescued “Peanut” last July in Washington, NC. He was named the Ugliest Dog in Greenville at the 2014 Canine Crawl.
Peanut was set on fire as a puppy. Even though his appearance might be a little unusual, Chandler says he is anything but miserable.
She hopes to share Peanut’s story and bring awareness to animal abuse at the World’s Ugliest Dog contest in California in June. For 26 years the contest has focused attention on dogs rescued from abusive situations, puppy mills or abandoned in shelters.
