Police Increase Road Patrols For Holiday Weekend

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) - Memorial Day may be a few days off but that's not going to stop law enforcement from putting out extra patrols early to keep roads safe.

Today the Livingston County and Washtenaw County traffic team are joining up to patrol several highways.

You can expect to see more officers on I-94 and I-96, US highway 23 and M-14.

Here's another reminder: be sure to buckle up when you're in your vehicle.   Police all over the state are running "click it or ticket" checkpoints in random locations through this weekend.

AAA expects more than 36 million people to hit the road for the holiday weekend and that's nearly a two percent increase over last year.
