Police Warn About Unlocked Cars

Posted: Updated:
(WLNS) - This might seem obvious but apparently leaving cars unlocked is an open invitation to roaming thieves.

Brighton Police recently arrested two young men who had been caught stealing items out of unlocked vehicles.

According to police the pair operated at night but in Brighton similar thefts are being reported in broad daylight.

The two thieves told police they would check up to 40 cars a night looking for unlocked vehicles to steal from.

They went on to tell police that the practice is not uncommon among other teens and adults in the Brighton area.

The best advice police have is to remove all your valuables, lock your vehicle and call 911 if you see something suspicious.
