UPDATE: The Jackson County sheriff says Mr. Smith was located safely by authorities in Ohio.

ORIGINAL STORY:

(WLNS) - The Jackson County sheriff is asking for your help in locating a 74-year old man missing since yesterday.

Sheriff Steve Rand tells 6 News that David Smith is a diabetic and has missed his most recent dose of insulin.
As a result he could be confused and having medical issues.

Smith is described as a white male, six feet tall, weighs 185 pounds, has gray hair and mustache, has blue eyes and wears glasses.

He was last seen wearing a royal blue Under Armor t-shirt and tan shorts.

Smith left yesterday to go buy fishing bait in the Pine Hill Lake area in Hanover Township.  He was driving an olive green 2007 Subaru Outback with a bike rack on the roof.  The car had Tennessee license plate E7008F.

Anyone who may have seen David Smith or comes across him in their travels is asked to contact the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff at (517) 769-7901 or they can call 911 and notify the emergency dispatch center in their area.
