MSU Launches New Program & Enrollment Up

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) - Michigan State University is launching a new summer scholars program aimed to give students knowledge about the state's natural resources.

The three month program will combine classroom knowledge with career building skills.

Students who take part will learn all about Michigan's natural resources.

By the end of the program they'll be able to tackle environmental issues often discussed by professionals.

And MSU is seeing a record number of students apply to the university.

33,000 people have put in their applications to become a Spartan.

That's a 5 percent increase from last year.

It's not just Michiganders who want to come to East Lansing, either.

Out of state applications are also on the rise with a 12 percent increase from last year.
