Samantha Grigg Sentenced For Dustyn Frolka Death

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) - An 18-year-old woman who drove a vehicle involved in the death of a Michigan State University student has been sentenced to prison.

Samantha Grigg was sentenced to 6-15 years for manslaughter and 6-15 years for armed robbery today.

She will serve both sentences at the same time.

Grigg says the victim, 19-year-old Dustyn Frolka of Owosso, jumped out of the SUV on Interstate 69 to escape being attacked by two people in February. He was found dead in Clinton County's Bath Township, near Lansing.

Grigg's lawyer had predicted she would get a minimum sentence of 3½ years in prison.

Two others are charged with first-degree murder, 18-year-old Tyrel Bredernitz and 16-year-old Brendan Heim. Grigg will testify against them. All are from Saline.

About $800 was taken from the victim.

We'll have more on the sentencing today on 6 News at Noon, 5 and 6.
