Crash Claims One In Jackson County

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) - One woman is dead following a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Mount Hope Road and Waterloo-Munith Road, in Waterloo Township Monday afternoon.

Dead is 61-year old Linda Kay Westcott of Munith.

According to Jackson County sheriff investigators, a pickup ran a stop sign and hit the driver's side of a car in the intersection.

The driver and lone occupant of the truck, a 24 year-old Jackson resident was not injured. Westcott was the lone occupant in the car. Both subjects were wearing seatbelts and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the traffic team, who will report their findings to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
