Michigan Growing A “Blue Water Economy”

Posted: Updated:
EAST LANSING, MI (WLNS) - A new report says Michigan is among the top states in the share of its workforce associated closely with water.

It says Michigan has more than 700,000 jobs in industries that benefit directly from water research and innovation, about 21 percent of its workforce.

The report released by East Lansing-based Anderson Economic Group says the growth of such industries can help Michigan develop a water-based "blue economy” in the post-rust belt era.
