(WLNS) - One penny at a time some elementary school students are showing their support for one of Michigan's heroes.
Students at Musson Elementary in Oakland County raised $4500 to help a Marine veteran get a new service dog.
Eric Calley, the brother of lieutant governor Brian Calley, lives here in Lansing and suffers from post traumatic stress disorder.
He lost his service dog "Liberty" to cancer and when the students heard the story they wanted to help.
Calley says he's humbled by the generosity.
He thanked the students personally during an assembly last week.
