BWL Follows Own Advice: Launches New Customer Plan

(WLNS) - The Lansing Board of Water and Light is introducing a new program aimed at helping customers hit by storm damage.

It's called the "Emergency Mast Repair and Payment Program".

The goal is to give people easier access to contractors to fix masts and make it easier to pay for.

A mast is the pole upon which a home's meter box is mounted and then affixed to the house.

Roughly 1,000 customers had their masts damaged as a result of the ice storm in December.

The program is one of several recommendations made by the BWL after their own internal investigation.
