ACT Student Testing To Change

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) - College admission tests may have just gotten a little more complex.

The popular ACT college admissions exam is making a few changes and adding two new tests to the exam.

The ACT says its broadening how it reports students test scores.

And though the 36 point scale will remain the same the ACT will be adding two new sections.

The ACT says starting next year students will receive a score on two readiness indicators reflecting how they did in terms of career readiness and understanding complex text.

Two other new categories will offer students a separate score on a performance measure that combines the science and math portions.

And a second in the area of language arts that combines how they did on the english, reading and writing categories.

And the exam is also making changes to its optional essay by adding more advanced topics.

The new testing begins next year.
