Pool Man Revives Drowning Squirrel With CPR

Posted: Updated:
(WLNS) - A pool man has captured the moment he gave a drowning ground squirrel CPR and nursed it back life.

Rick Gruber from Phoenix, Arizona, filmed himself giving the waterlogged rodent gentle chest compressions with his thumb and forefinger, in a bid to clear the airways.

Then, after an hour of having its fur stroked and being softly spoken to, the animal is seen miraculously opening its eyes, getting back on all fours and running off into the wild.

The self-described animal-lover said that he didn't give the squirrel mouth-to-mouth resuscitation because he didn't want to get bitten or catch anything.

However, his belly presses appear to have worked perfectly fine.
