Gas Prices Continue To Climb

(WLNS) - State motorists will find the average gas prices up for the third week in a row.

AAA reports that Michigan’s current statewide average is $3.94 per gallon, about 3 cents higher than last week and about 30 cents less than this same time last year.

In the Lansing area prices ranged from $3.78 to $4.09 per gallon, according to gasbuddy.com.

The average price for self-serve increased about 3 cents in Metro Detroit over the past week, with the average at $3.94 per gallon. The price is about 27 cents less than last year.


Of the cities surveyed by AAA , the cheapest price for self-serve unleaded fuel can be found in the Marquette area, where it’s about $3.76 a gallon. The highest average is in the Jackson area at about $3.98 a gallon.
