Posted: Updated:
(WLNS) - New developments from court  surrounding the murder of MSU student Dustin Frolka.

Police say they found the aspiring musician on the side of I-69 back in February.

He would later died at the hospital.

Police say 18 year old Tyrel Bredernitz was one of three persons involved in his death.

Bredernitz appeared in court this morning for a pre-trial hearing where he turned down a plea deal with prosecutors.

Bredenitz is charged with murder, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime.

His trial has been scheduled for September 17.

He now has until September 8th to make a plea.

Prosecutors say Bredernitz, Samantha Grigg and Brendan Heim robbed, then beat Frolka before leaving him on the side of the highway.

Grigg was sentenced to 6 to 15 years in prison.

Heim is still under evaluation to see if he is competent for trial.
