Raccoon Causes Power Outage In Western Michigan

Posted: Updated:
MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) - Officials say a raccoon that got into an electrical substation in western Michigan is blamed for causing a power outage affecting more than 3,500 customers.

Consumers Energy spokesman Roger Morgenstern said
that power went out in parts of Muskegon, Norton Shores and Muskegon Heights around 4:45 a.m. Friday. He says service was restored a few hours later.

Some traffic lights were out Friday morning as a result, causing temporary traffic issues.
