Consumers Energy Wind Turbine Blades On The Roads

Posted: Updated:
(WLNS) - A 165-foot wind turbine blade is hard to miss on the highway but Consumers Energy officials are reminding drivers that the massive pieces are on Michigan's highways this week.

The huge pieces of equipment are on the way to the utility's Cross Winds project in Tuscola County.

That $255 million project includes 62 wind turbines and is expected to be running later this year.

According to our media partners at MLive, the new wind park will allow Consumers to meet the state's deadline to generate 10 percent of its power from renewable sources by 2015.
