Recall Frustration Hits Some GM Owners

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) -We've got an update now with the latest General Motors recalls.

This time GM is recalling the keys for just over 3-million cars, which include:

the Buick Lacrosse, Chevy Impala, Cadillac Deville and DTS, and the Buick Lucerne, Regal and Monte Carlo.

Ron Preadmore called in his GM recall months ago, but as of today the parts still haven't come in.

Preadmore says, "It's frustrating. You wanna go somewhere and you don't know whether you're going to get a call that says come on in, we've got an open spot or we got the part. That's frustrating."

Back in February GM recalled 2.6 million cars for ignition switch problems, including Preadmore's HHR Chevrolet.

Jason Cords, the general manager at Shaheen Chevrolet, says the ignition recall is taking longer than a normal recall because GM cannot mass produce the ignition switches- increasing the wait to 6 weeks.

But he says the most recent recall on the keys will only take about 2 weeks.

If your car is on the list dealers say you should

-grab your registration and call a local dealer

-from there you can order your new parts or trade in your car

"I've only used one key, taken all my other keys in my pocket when I leave for the house but in the back of my mind, I'm still a little reluctant to drive," says Preadmore.

as for ron- he says he's being extra cautious until his parts come in.
