HOWELL, Mich. (AP) - A 25-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a man found dead in December 2011 in Livingston County.
Charges were announced Wednesday against Anthony Duke of Webberville. He earlier was identified by investigators as a person of interest in the death of 47-year-old Ronald Hauser.
Duke is being held without bond in the Livingston County Jail after being arraigned Wednesday. He's asked for a court-appointed lawyer. His next hearing is Tuesday.
Hauser was found dead at his home in Livingston County's Iosco Township, 45 miles northwest of Detroit. Authorities have said they believed robbery was a motive. Hauser owned a tree-trimming service and was known to keep large amounts of cash.
