LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan authorities say the unadjusted unemployment was unchanged from April to May.

The state Department of Technology, Management & Budget on Thursday released seasonally unadjusted joblessness figures for May.

The statewide unemployment rate was 7.3 percent. It was 8.6 percent at the same time last year.

The department says May's unemployment rates ranged from a low of 5.3 percent in the Ann Arbor and Holland-Grand Haven regions to a high of 9.2 percent in the northeastern Lower Peninsula. It says the rate was 8 percent in the populous Detroit area, a 0.1-point increase.
