Man Finds $100 In Flint Hidden Cash Contest

Posted: Updated:

FLINT, Mich. (AP) - A man spent a few hours touring Flint schools before finding what he was looking for: $100.

Samuel Tedford discovered the money at Dort Elementary, courtesy of a new online experiment called Flint Hidden Cash.

The effort is similar to a social media scavenger hunt that has been popular this summer in bigger cities across the world.

A Flint couple is behind the local version, but they are keeping their identities secret. They dispense clues and encouragement from their Twitter account.

The organizers say they're planning to do more giveaways in the future.

Working from a clue that the cash was hidden at a school, the 40-year-old Tedford and his uncle visited three of them before arriving at Dort.
