GM Victim Payment Plan To Be Unveiled

(WLNS) - The family's of victims who lost their lives because of faulty ignition switches in General Motors cars will learn today how they'll be compensated.

The company will announce its payment plan today in Washington and it could be a lot of money.

CEO Mary Barra says there will not be any caps on payment and that GM does not have any say in how much will be rewarded to families.

Payments could end up in the range of hundreds of millions to even billions of dollars.

General Motors says the faulty switches are responsible for at least 54 crashes and 13 deaths.

Lawmakers believe the death toll is closer to 100.
