Moms Ask Governor For Tighter Gun Rules

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) - Governor Snyder gets a lot of mail everyday but one delivery did not come in his mailbox.

He was hand delivered piles of post cards from the group Mothers Opposed to Gun Violence.

The postcards are urging Governor Snyder to push for stronger gun control laws in the state.

The group says it isn't against gun ownership but that it does want more aggressive background checks on gun buyers.

Kristen Moore explains the intent of the mail campaign. "I would like to urge the legislature to take action on for example background check bill such as HB 4774 that one has been in the House Judiciary Committee since May 2013 with no action we know that background checks reduce crime."

The group brought 14,000 postcards to be delivered to Governor Snyder.
