Two Michigan Cities Getting Funds To Train Doctors

Posted: Updated:
(WLNS) Both Detroit and Flint are getting nearly $9 million to help train new doctors.

Most of the money goes to the Detroit Wayne County Health Authority, but Flint's Hamilton Community Health Network is getting a big chunk.

The US Department of Health and Human Services says the money comes from the Affordable Health Care Act funding and will support primary care residency programs across the country.

More than 500 doctors will be helped by this.
