Clean Up Underway After Leslie Industrial Fire

Posted: Updated:

LESLIE, MI (WLNS) - Firefighters say the fire is now out at the ISC Plating Company in Leslie. Three people needed treatment but their injuries were not considered life-threatening. Crews remain on the scene to monitor the debris.

Homeland Security & Emergency Management says "due to a site plan done in 2011 and the quick action of responders, most contaminants were contained to the site.
There is no concern of water contamination for residents at this time, but testing will continue for both air and water quality to ensure safety for all residents.

Homeland Security & Emergency Management is currently conducting environmental cleanup of the site, which is also being monitored for air quality. If you are concerned about the air and water quality, you can call Ingham County Environmental Health at (517) 887-4312.
