Annual NOBLE Conference Arriving In Grand Rapids

Posted: Updated:

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - An annual gathering of black law enforcement officials is coming to Grand Rapids.

Known as the NOBLE conference, it runs Saturday through Wednesday at DeVos Place Convention Center.

The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives Annual National Training Conference and Exhibition is expected to draw hundreds of command-level officials and community leaders from local, state and federal agencies.

They'll find a variety of exhibitors, vendors, training sessions and events focused on issues affecting communities across the country.

A number of events are open to the general public, including Wednesday's NOBLE Memorial March, which will honor fallen officers from the past year.

NOBLE president John Dixon III says Grand Rapids "offers the convenience of a large city and active law enforcement in a smaller community."
