Five Arrested After Deputy Finds Stolen Property In Car

JACKSON, MI (WLNS) – Due to quick thinking and a phone call, police were able to stop five people who they say had just broken into a home and stolen items.

It happened around 2:40 a.m. Friday in Summit Township.

A Summit Twp. resident called police and reported a suspicious car parked at a vacant home.

A deputy found the car and pulled it over on Horton Rd., near Fourth Street in the city of Jackson. Inside were five people and according to the deputy, items that appeared to be burglary tools, along with stolen property.

The five were arrested and are currently being held in Jackson County Jail while officials wait for warrants.

All five suspects are men, one 19-year-old from the city of Jackson, one 18-year-old from Columbia Twp. and an 18-year-old, and two 21-year-olds from Blackman Twp.
