Man Gets Nearly 13 Years In Drug Conspiracy

CLEVELAND (AP) - A federal judge in Cleveland has sentenced a man to nearly 13 years in prison for being part of a drug ring that shipped heroin and cocaine from Detroit to northeastern Ohio.

Lewis Powell, 37 was sentenced on Tuesday to 12 years and 11 months.

He had pleaded guilty earlier this year to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin, crack cocaine and cocaine. Other charges were dropped as part of a plea deal.

Federal prosecutors say Powell was part of a conspiracy that brought large amounts of cocaine and heroin from Detroit to Warren.
