I’ve been doing what I do for:
I’ve been a broadcast meteorologist for a little over 3 years now, but I’ve had a love for weather since I was 5 years old.
Most interesting assignment:
I was the lead storm chaser for my former weather team and was tasked with tracking tornadoes across Siouxland. One time I was live during our 5pm newscast with a tornado on the ground a mile away from me. It was incredible and I loved every second of it because I got to experience the weather while also helping people stay safe!
I have a knack for:
Memorization! I’ve memorized every nation in the world (in song form), the entire periodic table of elements (twice), and more.
I’m passionate about:
Aside from the weather I’m extremely passionate about fandoms/comic cons! I’m a huge fan of Star Trek, Doctor Who, My Hero Academia, M*A*S*H*, Bob’s Burgers, Survivor, NCIS, The Orville, Avatar: The Last Airbender, DuckTales, Gravity Falls, and more! I love so many random fandoms! One of my favorite things to do is go to comic cons and interact with people from the fandoms I’m a part of.
I can’t stop talking about:
Making TikToks! I love making TikToks to help explain weather phenomena in a fun and creative way. I went mega-viral back in 2021 with a TikTok on how you shouldn’t eat icicles because they could contain bird poop. Over 18 million people have seen that video! It’s wild!
When I’m not forecasting, I’m:
At comic cons! I’m a very nerdy person and I love all sorts of TV shows, movies, and more, so naturally I attend as many comic cons as I can! Skiing is another one of my favorite activities, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to come back to Michigan!
What I love most about Mid-Michigan:
The weather! The weather we get here in Michigan is the reason I am who I am today! I love storms, snow, tornadoes, hail, and everything in between!
Anything else you want viewers to know:
I’m an Emmy award winning meteorologist as well as an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. One thing that’s unique about me is that I’m allergic to the cold! I developed the allergy in high school and am one of only a few people to ever develop it. If I get too cold I swell up and get incredibly itchy, which is brutal because I LOVE the cold and snow!
