Kendall Wilson is the Weekend Meteorologist at 6 News. She was born and raised in Southfield, Michigan – where she first discovered her desire to work in the broadcast news industry.
Kendall discovered her passion for weather in high school with the help of her parents and younger sister. She then attended Central Michigan University to earn her degree in Meteorology, promptly graduated, and started her position at 6 News in August of 2021.
She says being determined and eager to learn drives her to create engaging and informative weather graphics to help communicate her forecasts. In the past year, she has also discovered a love and passion for building augmented reality graphics, which she tries to incorporate into her weather forecasts and in the weekly Weather Wednesday segment – which airs on 6 News at 5:30.
During her time here at 6 News, Kendall has been able to cover multiple severe weather events, including the Groundhog Day storm in 2022, and assisting with continuous coverage of tornado warnings for the viewing area.
No matter the forecast, she is determined to make the best out of every day saying there is always a bright side to something you can choose to focus on.
She has several weather-related quotes that she chooses to live by. One of her favorites is, “Embrace the storms of life, because, without darkness & chaos, lightning could never strike.”
If you have a story you would like her to know about, please email Kendall any time.
