Day of Giving

WLNS TV 6, Auto-Owners Insurance and community partners seek your support for local Food Banks as they prepare for the holiday and winter season.

Choose Hope, not Hunger, and help your local Food Banks in their daily efforts to create a hunger free community.  6 News will update you on the fight against hunger in our communities and demonstrate the ever-growing need for your support of both the Greater Lansing Food Bank and the Food Bank of South Central Michigan, who together serve 15 counties across Mid-Michigan.

"It's hard to believe that Hunger exists right here, in our community. That's why it's so vitally important for everyone to support their local Food Banks to meet this basic human need," said WLNS Operations Manager Eugene Shanahan.

On Thursday, December 6, non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at the WLNS studios in Lansing, 2820 East Saginaw Street and at Consumers Energy, One Energy Plaza in Jackson.

"Mid-Michigan's Day of Giving" is supported by Auto-Owners Insurance, their associates and Independent Agents, and will be broadcast on WLNS-TV6, WLAJ-ABC 53, CW5 Lansing, and Midwest Communications radio station partner WJXQ-Q106.

You can also give online at secure sites by clicking on the links to the Greater Lansing Food Bank or the Food Bank of South Central Michigan.  Cash donations enable food banks to use their buying power to purchase needed food in bulk quantities to better serve the hungry in our community.
